Eagles Place Second At Divisional

Sidney's boys earned second place and the Sidney girls placed seventh in the team standings at the Super Divisional Track Meet held in Laurel during the weekend.

The Eagles scored 81 points for second in the boys standings. Belgrade earned the title with 95 points while Laurel was third with 68.

In the girls division, Laurel won with 107 points followed by Lewistown with 71 and Livingston with 66.5 points. Sidney scored 34.5 points.

Sidney's Michael McGinnis enjoyed a strong meet as the junior placed first in the 100 (11.23), first in the high jump (6-2) and first in the triple jump (42-8).

Garrison Hughes, a sophomore, took first in the pole vault by clearing 15-0.

Carter Hughes, a freshman, placed first in the discus (144-6) and second in the shot put (48-0).

Alec Lovegren finished fifth in the 100 (11.42) and seventh in the 200 (23.98). Wyatt Heringer was ninth in the 200 (24.10) and seventh in the 400 (52.86). Cole Roberts finished eighth in the 1600 (5.23.72).

Blaine Nelson earned sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (44.59) and seventh in the 110-meter hurdles (17.93).

Hunter Severson placed third in the discus (142-8) and sixth in the shot put (45-4). Jared Steinbeisser cleared 5-10 for fourth in the high jump and took sixth in the triple jump (39-5). Quinn McGlothlin cleared 5-6 for eighth in the high jump.

Mason Thiel cleared 12-6 in the pole vault for second, Parker Dean cleared 12-0 for third and Wyatt Heringer cleared 11-6 for seventh.

The 1600-meter relay team of Heringer, G. Hughes, Dawson McGlothlin and Nelson finished fifth in 3.37.10.

In the girls division, Harmony Hampton cleared 10-6 for first in the pole vault. Also placing in the pole vault for the Eagles were Myka Steinbeisser in second by clearing 10-0 and Aubrey Kessel in third by clearing 9-6. Ariana Izaakson and Katie Berglund tied for sixth by clearing 8-6.

Brooke Franklin placed seventh in the triple jump (31-3) and 10th in the long jump (14-6). Jordan Baxter took third in the javelin (109-10) and seventh in the discus (98-4).

Danielle Steinley placed fifth in the shot put (33-8) and sixth in the discus (98-10). Tess Ler finished seventh in the 3200 (13.01.84) and Abby Reitz took 10th in the 800 (2.38.11). Janelle Brien placed ninth in the 1600 (5.49.12). Kaitlyn Keithley finished 10th in the 100. Olivia Kober took sixth in the shot put (32-8) and eighth in the discus (94-7).

The 400-meter relay team featuring Tenna Cooley, Berglund, Franklin and Keithley finished seventh in 53.27. The 1600-meter relay team of Cooley, Brien, Breanna Frank and Reitz took sixth in 4.31.90.
