Fair Ticket Sales Going Well

Tickets for the Richland County Fair and Rodeo, including the Chris Young with special guest Logan Mize concert, became available Wednesday, May 18, and sales are going well.

"Right away in the morning, it was super busy," Richland County fair manager Jamie Larson said. "It was steady the rest of the day and Thursday."

Larson noted there are still great reserved tickets available for the Aug. 6 concert. "And, of course, a lot of festival," she said.

Pre-sale reserved concert tickets are $50 while pre-sale festival tickets are $45. Package tickets cost $68 and include a concert ticket (choice of reserved or festival), both nights of the rodeo and an admissions button.

Tickets for the rodeo, scheduled Aug. 4-5, are $12 for adults and $5 for children. Admissions buttons are $5 and Paid One Price carnival tickets are $20.

Larson notes prices haven't increased from last year's costs.

Tickets may go quickly for Young since he currently has two hits – "Think of You" and "I'm Comin' Over."

Young has traveled internationally for his music tours twice, including countries such as Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, Norway and Sweden.

Young was awarded the British Country Music Award for International Act of the Year in 2014.

Young received his first Grammy Award nomination in 2011, where he was recognized for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for his smash hit, "Getting' You Home." This song was Young's first chart-topper and became his first RIAA-certified Gold Digital Single.

Daily entertainment at the county fair will include musician John Dunnigan, Pippi the Clown, Double Vision magic and comedy show and the Freckle Farm Petting Zoo.

A new attraction of turkey races is part of the petting zoo. "It's kind of like pig races but with turkeys," Larson explained.

This year's fair will be the first with the new 4-H and school exhibit building, which is currently under construction.
