Watford City’s Long X Council on the Arts is pleased to present the Badlands Arts Showcase and Fundraising Gala on Thursday, May 26. Guests will enjoy an evening of original western North Dakota dance and music performances, art, coffee, dessert and hors d’oeuvres for purchase as part of one of the first events held in the beautiful new theater space in the new Watford City High School.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. when the doors open to the art show and silent auction featuring photography, painting, pottery, jewelry and more from local and regional artists. Each artist has donated a piece to the silent auction to benefit the Long X Arts Council and many artists will have their work for sale as well.
At 7 p.m., doors will open to the performance showcase featuring Scandinavian music and dance by Minot’s prestigious Rinat Mousafarov Institue of Dance, winners of North Dakota’s Favorite Blues Band Award, Whiskey Rebellion, North Dakota’s Favorite Folk Artist winner Jessie Veeder, nationally renowned cowboy poet and musician DW Grothe, yodeling sensation Kristi Goldade, as well as performances by Watford City’s Meadowlark Dance Students and Watford City High School Choir Students and other local favorites.
