The Brorson Farmhands 4-H Club treated Crestwood residents to Sunday dinner on March 13th; the 18 club members provided the meal and served sloppy joes with chips, side dishes, and dessert bars. The Brorson Farmhands look for a way to serve their community each month as part of their 4-H pledge:
I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living.
Other community service projects have included building and donating benches to the Richland County Fairgrounds, collecting food for the local foodbank, and making Baskets of Promise which include towels, combs, soap, and other toiletry items. The Baskets of Promise were then given to the Shepherd of the Valley Church to be given as needed. In February, the 4-H Club gave hand-written Valentine’s Day Cards and candy to residents at the Lodge and they plan on making survivor bracelets for soldiers in April.
