Since 2010 a strong partnership between Reynolds Market and Blue Rock Products has helped support activities at the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County (BGCRC). Ron Utgaard, store manager, has taken this idea of community, which is prevalent at Reynolds, and along with Fred Lake of Blue Rock, developed the 12pk Pepsi match. A portion of each 12 pack Pepsi sale is donated by Blue Rock to Boys & Girls Club of Richland County and Reynolds Market matches that donation. These two companies, through this partnership, have donated over $23,000 to BGCRC youth programs since the partnership began.
"Could you imagine how much more could be raised for the Boys & Girls programs if other businesses got on board with something like this," Utgaard said.
Michele Seadeek, development director of the club says, "Understanding the immediate needs of our community and working together to help find a way to fulfill that need is what local businesses continue to do for the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County. Our club currently supports over 190 members and with a rapidly growing teen program, partnerships like this one are more valuable to each child we can help."
