Boys and Girls Club Issues Match Challenge

The Boys and Girls Club of Richland County is pleased to announce a $10,000 pledge from MDU Resources for the building fund. Half the dollars will be paid in May 2016 with the second half coming in 2017.

The Club is issuing a challenge to any other entity or individual to match the MDU pledge and continue to grow the fund.

According to Michelle Seadeek, development director for the club, over $1.5 million of the $6 million needed has been given or pledged. Over 85% of donors have been individuals, with 2015 donations surpassing 2014. Businesses which have made multi-year pledges have been critical in helping to fund the anticipated annual budget. “The extent of donations really shows that the community is invested long term in the club,” Seadeek said.

The new home of the Boys and Girls Club will be built at the corner of 4th St. and 14th Ave. SW, near Westside Elementary. Building plans are 85-90% complete with ground breaking on track for 2017. For more information, or to see building plans, visit richlandbgc.org.
