Traditional Polish Dinner will Raise Funds for World Youth Day

St. Joseph’s Church, 106 6th St. West in Williston, will be holding a traditional twelve course Polish Christmas dinner on December 6th at 5:30pm central time.

St. Joseph’s Youth Group will use the proceeds to attend World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in July of 2016. In addition to the fifteen high school students that are going, there will also be twelve adults including two youth leaders and Father Kovash.

St. John Paul II established World Youth Day in 1984 as an opportunity for Catholic Youth from all over the world to come together. While World Youth Day has been held in countries all over the world, Krakow, Poland is especially exciting to those who will be attending because it is where St. John Paul II is from. Events for the trip include a pre-trip sightseeing tour In the Footsteps of St. John Paul II; some of the sights are a visit to St. John Paul II’s birthplace, gondola rides, a guided tour of Czestochowa, a 15th century monastery, as well as a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau. During the scheduled events for World Youth Day, students will get an opportunity to meet the Pope.

St. Joseph’s Youth Group has never attended the international gathering before and will be the only group from the Bismarck Diocese to attend in 2016. The group will be leaving July 20, 2016 and returning August 1, 2016.

There are only 120 tickets being sold for the authentic Polish dinner, and they are going fast! Tickets are $100 each; get your tickets today by calling St. Joseph’s Church at 701-572-6731.
