Three Local Artists Participate in Blue Buffalo Art Show

Three local artists have added their unique artistic talents to the Blue Buffalo art show on display now through February 13 at the MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney.

Trish Stevenson is a member of the Blue Buffalo Artists. She has been creating art for as long as she can remember and keeps widening the circle of fans who appreciate her work in oils and pastels. Her western themed art was recently displayed at the Greeley Stampede and Windows to the West in Estes Park. She will also be in Great Falls in March. Stevenson enjoys the shows. "You meet the nicest people when you're around art," she said. Stevenson also created the cover for Bob Petermann's new CD which was released in October. The CD will be available for sale at the open house.

Ronda Whited spends most of her time at the family farm where, fortunately for her fans, she still takes time for her pencil art. Featured in the Blue Buffalo display are two of her character pictures, Robert Duvall from Lonesome Dove and Jack Nicholson. She has done eight other character pieces, but likes the western art as well. In her spare time, Whited volunteers at Sidney Health Center and teaches a kids' bible class at Ebenezer Congregational Church. "Those things keep me grounded," she said. Whited appreciates being invited to participate in the Blue Buffalo show. "It gives me inspiration," she said. "Being with fellow artists feeds the soul. Artists talk differently."

Afton Ray Rossol loves teaching kids' art classes and workshops at her studio in Sidney. When she sits down to do something for herself, she likes lively water colors. She does a mix of mediums for people and has recently completed two murals, one at Trendz and the other at MicroTel.

Plan to attend the reception from 6-8 pm on Saturday, November 21 at the MonDak Heritage Center. Whited and Rossol will join with Stevenson and other Blue Buffalo artists for a great evening of art, refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. Most of the art is for sale and would make a great Christmas gift.
