The Montana Department of Agriculture and Pulse Advisory Committee will host Montana Pulse Day as scheduled on December 9th in Great Falls at the Best Western Heritage Inn. The annual event will feature a panel of pulse producers, industry representatives, researchers, officials, and pulse manufacturers. The event will also highlight activities associated with the 2016 International Year of Pulses to market and promote Montana pulses.
“Montana has seen tremendous growth in pulse acres, leading the nation in dry pea and lentil production. We want to offer an event for producers that provides helpful and timely information and education. The Montana Pulse Advisory Committee will serve as hosts for this important conference,” said Kim Falcon, deputy director for the department.
With Montana’s growth in pulse production, Montana Pulse Day is an opportunity for the industry to come together to discuss research, processing, transportation, marketing, and continued growth of this state industry. Interested pulse producers and industry representatives should contact Jana Mertens at (406) 444-2402 or via email at [email protected] to register for the event. The Montana Department of Agriculture’s mission is to protect producers and consumers, and to enhance and develop agriculture and allied industries.
