The New Williston High School

A Building for Everybody to be Proud of

WILLISTON: The new Williston High School is right on track to open for the 2016-2017 school year. Located on approximately forty acres just west of the Harvest Hills Phase II Subdivision, between 32nd and 37th Streets West, the high school is expected to be completed in July, 2016.

Williston High School Principal, Jason Germundson, refers to the new building as the "Flagship," as it'll be one for every student and every community member to be proud of. The school is being built by award winning contractor, JE Dunn, the same contractor who built the Williston Area Recreation Center.

With a capacity of 1500, the new building will be roughly 200,000 square feet and the Construction, Trades and Education building (CTE) will be an additional 20,000 square feet. In addition to the extra classroom space, Germundson advised that the new school will have an Auto-tech center, vocational agriculture, greenhouse and a turf football field. Another sure hit with the students will be the number of food stations which will offer students a large variety of lunch options to choose from.

The cost of the new school is expected to be in the ballpark of $70 million. An open house will be scheduled upon completion.
