In conjunction with Sidney HealthWorks, the SPS Activities Department has put together a program for those who are enrolled or employed by the Sidney Public Schools.
Monday through Friday from 3:15-5:15 p.m., Sidney HealthWorks will have on site personnel in the SHS Weight Room area. This person will:
· Provide appropriate in-season assistance to coaches and athletes to improve performance and lessen possibility of injury
· Provide aid and therapeutic instruction to injured athletes to help them return to their sport
· Provide instruction and training to off-season athletes in order to properly prepare them for their upcoming sports season
· Provide supervised assistance to any SPS employee who would like to better utilize the SHS Weight Room. This can include instruction on any apparatus, benefits of certain exercises, and even setting up a personalized program for the user.
This will be provided with no cost to the student or employee, but sponsored by the Activities Office in the effort to better prepare our athletes for competition, and provide a supervised wellness activity for our employees.
This program will begin after school on Wednesday, August 19th…student workouts will begin immediately after school, with employee wellness beginning at 4:15 p.m.
