MDT'S DBE Program To Offer Workshop In Sidney

SIDNEY, MONT.—The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program will offer 2 free upcoming workshops in Sidney. The workshops will take place at the Best Western Golden Prairie Inn conference room during the following times:

·Wednesday, July 22, 2015; from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

·Thursday, July 23, 2015; from 8:00-9:00 a.m.

The workshops will offer a brief overview of the Montana DBE Program and explain how Small Minority or Women owned businesses can get involved. The program assists these businesses in pursuing and competing for business contracts with City, County, State or Federal Government. If a business qualifies for DBE status, a DBE specialist will assist with free certification.

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts. It is a federally funded program administered by MDT. In order to participate in federally funded contracts under the DBE Program, companies must first be certified through the MDT DBE Program. MDT is the only DBE certifying agent in the state of Montana.

The MDT DBE Program Specialists are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the MDT DBE Program, including certification, compliance of federal and state laws, DBE Supportive Services, etc.
