It was a windy and hot day for fishing during Day 2 of the Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament on Fort Peck Lake.
With temperatures over 90 degrees and winds reaching 25 mph things got a little hectic in the late afternoon as teams started to head in to the Fort Peck Marina to check in.
The team with the top weight on Day 2 was Sam Lawson and Clay Kittleson of Fort Peck who caught 20.5 pounds of walleye.
The big walleye of Day 2 was caught by Chad Formanek of Wheatland, Wyoming and Nick Reid of Colstrip, Montana with a 14.37 pound walleye.
The overall winner of the Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament ended up Sam Lawson and Clay Kittleson who had 14.02 pounds on Day 1 and 20.5 pounds on Day 2 for the total of 34.52 pounds.
A total of $89,940 was paid out in cash while another $10,000 was given in prizes for the 2015 Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tourney.
