Williston Economic Development will take the next step in promoting its Enhanced Bakken Supply Chain Initiative in Colorado this month. WED Executive Director Shawn Wenko will facilitate the discussions with Bakken stakeholders June 18 and 19.
“Our goal is to reach out to oil and gas operators in the Bakken with headquarters based in Colorado,” said Wenko. “We want to hear from the industry and what their challenges are in the Bakken region.”
WED collaborated with Jeff Zarling and his business development group, DAWA Solutions Group, to coordinate the EBSCI in early 2015. The initiative was officially launched at the first Manufacturing and Logistics Conference in March.
Wenko said the Denver-based meetings are the next step in EBSCI furthering the dialogue with Bakken oil and gas operators headquartered in Denver.
“We will provide them with the latest data concerning several key projects including the Enhanced Bakken Supply Chain Initiative (EBSCI), Theodore Roosevelt Expressway (TRE) and the Stony Creek Rail Yard expansion,” said Wenko.
Key executives from TRE, Red River Supply and Jadestone Consulting will join Wenko and Zarling in Denver to share how their individual projects are evolving in the Bakken.
“We understand the challenges of operating in the Williston Basin and we want to be the bridge to increased sustainability in the region,” said Zarling.
Wenko is optimistic that interest in EBSCI will continue to grow.
“We hope to secure individual meetings with these operators on Thursday afternoon, attend the NDPC networking social that evening and host a lunch on Friday for all operators who wish to attend to discuss the supply chain challenges and how economic development can better address the inefficiencies,” said Wenko.
The meetings will be held on June 18-19. The dates were chosen to coincide with the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s (NDPC) annual Denver Social on Thursday, June 18th. The NDPC has more than 500 members in ND, SD and the Rocky Mountain Region. The Denver Social is a networking event for NDPC members.
