Thanks to the community and some generous donations, the 1st Alexander Foundation Ball was able to raise $45,000 to help bring sports back to the Alexander school. The Foundation Ball was held May 2nd and was very successful.
The biggest donation of the night was a matched donation of $10,000 from Ellen Novak. As well as being a life long member of the community, Ellen wanted to do this in honor of her husband George. He was a 1939 graduate of Alexander Public School. George served on the Alexander School board for several years. The current school was built while he was serving on the board. Along with George, 7 of his siblings also graduated from Alexander, as well as two of Ellen's brothers, and George and Ellen's three children. She now has the honor to have her grandchildren going to Alexander Public School and is very excited to see the sports program again in Alexander
