Helena – The Department of Environmental Quality has compiled and posted a comprehensive website Calendar of Events for Earth Day and Earth Week activities across Montana. Earth Day is Wednesday April 22, 2015.
Events range from traditional tree and shrub plantings to community cleanup campaigns. Many of these events feature arts, crafts, music, and recycling opportunities. Consider joining an event in your community by visiting: http://www.deq.mt.gov/dir/earthday.mcpx.
For students, the website also offers several Earth Day tests and links to measure your carbon footprint.
The SMART Schools Program and DEQ will host informational displays in the Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. SMART Schools promotes environmental sustainability and recycling in schools.
