Elizabeth and Friends is back, and you are invited! The annual women’s health and wellness event will once again be hosted by Roosevelt Medical Center in an effort to keep women in the community excited about maintaining their health through a variety of topics in a way that is fun and engaging.
The event is taking place on April 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall in Culbertson.
This year’s topic will focus on the benefits of yoga for women at every age and will be presented by Elizabeth Kleppen, a Mid-Level Medical Practitioner, and Leana Kolbeck, an Occupational Therapist and Yoga Instructor, for RMC.
Attendees will enjoy wine, dessert, light hors d’oeuvres, fun and over 25 door prizes while having the opportunity to get up and learn beginning yoga stretches. Everyone is encouraged to dress in loose-fitting clothing to enable them to move.
“This year, we wanted to choose a topic that everyone, at every age, could use in their everyday lives to enhance their overall health. We want the teenagers, the moms, the pre and post menopausal-aged women and our elderly women in wheel chairs, because the benefits gained from introducing yoga into a weekly routine are something every women should take advantage of,” said Kleppen.
Those who attend will learn about the benefits of yoga for stretching, relaxation, fitness, and better sleep, mental and physical balance. They will also learn about the many health benefits from yoga that include, maintaining better bone health, posture and blood flow while boosting immunity and preventing joint and cartilage breakdown.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jaimee Green, Marketing/Foundation Director at (406) 787-6476.
