On Saturday March 28th The Badlands Gymnastics Club will be holding their 27th Annual Night of the Stars at the Watford City High School, 100 3rd St NE Watford City, ND. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and will give the approximately 220 gymnasts ranging from babies to 18 year olds an opportunity to showcase their talents performing routines that demonstrate what they have learned over the past year.
The Badlands Gymnastics Club, at the McKenzie County Fair Building, was founded in 1984 by Peggy Thom and has since continued as a parent-run organization. Tickets can be purchased at the door and admission will be $20 per family, $8 for twelve and up, $6 for ages four to eleven, and ages three and under are free.
This year the Watford City Night of the Stars will be featuring Jen Bricker, a renowned aerialist and acrobat. Bricker, who was born without legs, has pursued her dream of becoming a gymnast and has been a Headliner at the Shangri La Hotel, Dubai and at the Palazzo Hotel, Las Vegas. She won 4th place during the 1998 AAU Junior Olympics for Power Tumbling, and in 1998 was also awarded the US Tumbling Inspiration Award at Illinois State High School as a Champion Tumbler. She toured with Britney Spears’ “Circus” tour as a featured performer in 2009 and in 2012 appeared on Glee. Her amazing story has been featured on HBO Real Sports, Good Morning America, and 20/20. Bricker has a successful speaking career and will be addressing the Watford City Elementary and High School students on Friday, March 27th.
