The fourth annual Bakken Brewfest, one of three fundraisers for the Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday April 18th at the Event Center in Sidney. It will be an evening of entertainment with good food, good music and a variety of different brews to be sampled. There will be approximately sixty types of beer with fifteen brews from Montana breweries. The Laughing Sun Brewery out of Bismark, ND will be there and Blue Rock will also be providing microbrews, specialty beers that are produced on a mass scale. The Meadowlark and Bayern out of Missoula, MT will both have firkens, which are wooden containers full of beer that will be tapped at 7:00pm. The Meadowlark Brewery and the Beavercreek Brewery will be producing an Eastern Montana Coalition Beer, as well.
General Admission tickets are $50 and ticket holders will be accommodated starting at 7:00pm until 10:00pm when beer will stop being served. They will receive a glass for sampling, complimentary food provided by the Ranger, and a free shuttle pass compliments of the Sidney Chamber. Holler n’ Pine from Bozeman, MT will be playing a variety of bluegrass, folk, and alternative-country music throughout the evening.
For VIP ticket holders, $100, there will be an early admittance at 5:30pm with a special session performed by the Holler n’ Pines. In addition to all the amenities of general admittance, there will be a pig roast from 5:30 to 7:00pm prepared by Greg Mohr and they will receive an All-Access Pass to the VIP Beer Room offering exclusive seasonal and specialty brews; as a gift from the Bakken Brewfest, VIPS will get a custom bar-style bottle opener. Some brewers will be present to answer questions and speak with guests. Tables are available for purchase as well, $1500 for a table that seats ten and $1200 for a table that seats eight; these tables are limited, so anyone interested should reserve their table as soon as possible. Tickets are currently for sale and can be purchased at the Sidney Chamber of Commerce, the Meadowlark Brewery, and the Beavercreek Brewery in Wibaux, MT.
The Photo Brewth will be making its return, with a backdrop set up complete with props for guests to pose and take pictures. Last year’s winner of the Photo Brewth Picture Post was Holle Sichelstiel and the lucky winner’s prize is a ticket to this year’s Brewfest.
A new addition to this year’s festivities will be the Merchandise Booth where keg-style growlers and hydro-flasks will be available for purchase for $50 each.
As the date approaches, the Brewfest committee prepares to make it a fun and interesting event for everyone involved. They are currently looking for volunteers to serve beer throughout the night. To show their appreciation for the donated time and energy, the Chamber will be giving each volunteer a 2015 Bakken Brewfest Shirt, a complimentary gift, a glass, and invite them to enjoy the food and entertainment. All volunteers must be serve-safe certified, a three hour class that will be held March 30 from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm and on April 17 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Community Services Building. The classes will be provided at no cost through District II Drug and Alcohol; the certification is good for three years and only those who have current certification will be exempt from the class. If individuals want to pursue certification on their own, it must be complete by April 17. Approximately twenty-five volunteers are still needed for pouring. If anyone is interested in helping with set-up, it will start at 9:00am on Friday April 17 and tear-down will be at 9:00am on Sunday April 19. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Marissa Eberling at the Chamber of Commerce, 406-433-1916 or Alli Nelson at 406-580-6031.
