The 2015 Dummy Team Roping Event will be held January 17 at the VFW (124 2nd Ave NE) in Sidney giving participants a chance to have a lot of fun on a cold winter's day. Registration will take place from 3-4 pm and kids roping will start at 4:30 with adult roping to follow. All participants need to bring their own rope and the cost is $20 for Pick 1- Draw 1; the top 15 teams will go to the short go for the Calcutta. This year a Remington model 700 CDL deluxe 25-06 will be auctioned off with the option of having it engraved.
All proceeds will go to the 2015 Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo, which will be on June 13; the rodeo, organized by friends and family of Hermanson who passed away in 2008, raises money for the Empty Saddle Memorial Foundation (ESMF) which was founded in memory of lost loved ones. The ESMF's motto is "Teach Them, Heal Them" and focuses on helping area youth, giving out scholarships and aid for medical expenses.
