The MonDak Ag Days and Trade Show is shaping up to be a great experience for 2015 with the Ringling 5 performing and plenty of presenters for all interests Friday and Saturday. The banquet will be held Friday, January 16th.
Some presenters for Ag Days include: Rachel Endecott, Extension Beef Specialist, speaking on EPDs in beef cattle, Leon Osborne, Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Sciences and Director of UND Regional Weather Information Center will be presenting next growing season's weather outlook.
Friday, Jan. 16th starts at 9 a.m. on Friday Tammy Lake, Richland County FSA Office, will kick off the presentations with a Farm Bill Q&A. Kenneth Hellevang, ND Extension Engineer, will speak at 10:15 a.m. on Keeping Grain in Good Condition while in storage. Third in line is Dr. Rachel Endecott at 11:30 a.m. with her presentation on Using EPD's to improve herd genetics. At 1:15 p.m. Shelia Friedrich, MSU Extension Agent for Sheridan County, is presenting Home Food Preservation Tips and Tricks. Leon Osborn will be at 2:30 p.m. presenting "Global Weather Patterns and Their Impact on the 2015 Growing Season." Shortly after Tim Fine will be presenting the Richland County Community Garden at 3:30 p.m. A social in the Trade Show area will be at 5:00 p.m. The banquet will be at 6:00 p.m. where the Richland County Conservation District will be holding their annual awards recognition. During the banquet there will be the Ringling 5 performance to end the night.
Saturday, Jan. 17th the schedule will start at 7:00 a.m. with breakfast sponsored by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture and Advanced Communications. At 8:30 a.m. Jeanne Rankin, Agro Emergency Projects Coordinator, will speak on Dealing with Accidents Involving Livestock. Then Toby Day, MSU Extension Horticulture Specialist, at 10:30 a.m. presenting some New Technology/Apps for the Home Gardener. At 11:30 a.m. Stephanie Ridl and Tim Fine will discuss Tree Care, Tree Pests, and the Re-Tree Sidney Project. At 1:00 pm. Linda Simonsen and other local gardeners will conduct a panel discussion on gardening in Eastern Montana and touch on several different gardening topics. At 2:30 p.m. the MonDak Ag Days Trade Show will then come to a close.
