Montana State University debuted a new institutional spot that highlights the work of MSU Extension and its impact on all Montanans.
“We Work Together to Grow a Better Montana” premiered during the telecast of the MSU-UM football game. The 30-second commercial features the Schutter Diagnostic Lab on the MSU campus. It highlights the cooperative nature of the lab, ranging from the learning opportunities it offers to MSU students, the work done there by MSU Extension faculty and county agents and disseminated around the state by Extension agents to the people of Montana, enabling farmers to grow better crops.
“We wanted to create a spot that highlights the impact of the work of MSU Extension on the lives of Montanans and MSU’s land-grant mission,” said Julie Kipfer, MSU director of marketing and creative services who was the executive producer of the spot. Kipfer said the project, which was filmed in high-definition, was planned to debut at the Cat-Griz match-up. “This is a perfect culmination for MSU Extension’s 100th anniversary.”
The ad was produced and directed by KUSM, Montana PBS and staff based at MSU. Kipfer said using in-house and local talent allowed MSU to produce a top-quality product at a fraction of the cost of using an outside agency
“Nearly everyone involved in the production was either MSU alumni, current students or members of the MSU faculty and staff,” Kipfer said. “It truly was a cooperative effort, which is fitting for a spot that highlights Extension.
Kipfer said MSU plans to air the institutional advertisement many times in the coming months.
