Annual Awards Recognize Volunteer Service in Montana
The Governor’s Office of Community Service and the Montana Commission on Community Service are now accepting nominations for the 2015 ServeMontana Awards.
Presented in February at the Montana State Capitol, these annual awards recognize outstanding Montana individuals and organizations committed to community and volunteer service.
“The ServeMontana Awards provide an opportunity for the public to recognize the outstanding folks that devote time each and every day to make their community a better place,” said Dan Ritter, Director of the Governor’s Office of Community Service. “Montanans have always had a strong ethic of service, and it’s through these awards that we are able to highlight this very principle and commitment that makes Montana a better place to live.”
The ServeMontana Awards are for service and volunteer work in the areas of education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, veterans & military families, economic opportunity, disaster services, emergency preparedness, and emergency response.
The nomination form is available at serve.mt.gov
All nominations for the 2015 ServeMontana Awards must be submitted to the Governor’s Office of Community Service by December 5, 2014.
The ceremony to present the ServeMontana Awards will be held February 2015 in Helena and is open to the public.
The public is encouraged to nominate individuals of all ages and backgrounds, organizations, and groups. All services must be performed in Montana or by Montanans.
The Governor-appointed Montana Commission on Community Service was created in 1993 to renew the ethic of civic responsibility in the state and to encourage citizens, regardless of age and income, to engage in service.
The Governor’s Office of Community Service expands and promotes National Service and volunteerism in Montana and engages citizens in service and emergency preparedness.
