The Montana Chapter of the New Leaders Council (NLC) is officially accepting applications for the 2015 institute. NLC is a five-month progressive entrepreneurship training program. It is the premier leadership and professional development, training, mentoring, networking, and career and political advancement program for young professionals both in Montana and in 35 other chapters across the country. This is the 6th year that the institute has been in Montana, and it proves to be one of the best thanks to experienced faculty brought in from around the State and the Country.
“My fellowship with The New Leaders Council served as a jumping point that advanced me to the next stage in my career,” said Anna Wallace a 2014 NLC graduate and law student at the University of Montana. “It helped me hone in on my strengths and passions, and gave me the tools to become a more effective leader in my community. NLC also taught me how to integrate the important aspects of my life in a healthy way, which is serving me well in law school.”
The ideal NLC fellows are successful in their industries, they are risk-takers, and progressive advocates. NLC works to recruit emerging leaders in business, technology, and non-profit sectors and provide them with the skills they need to achieve their goals and advance their careers. Fellows commit to one weekend per month for five months where they participate in trainings on a wide range of topics including messaging, finance, business entrepreneurship and political management and networking with their fellow NLC class of 15-20 leaders.
Since 2009, New Leaders Council Montana has had 70 individuals successfully complete the institute. These graduates have gone on to run for office, lead organizations and start businesses. The five part institute will take place in Missoula and Helena, Montana on the following dates: January 10th and 11th, February 7th and 8th, March 14th and 15th, April 11th and 12th, and May 9th and 10th.
NLC recruits Fellows from outside traditional power structures and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces. Our graduates are an ever-expanding corps of diverse, new progressive leaders who are rising to the top of their respective fields.
