Named after the North Dakota oil pioneer who became the first member of the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s Hall of Fame, the Al Golden Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 to support deserving undergraduate students who are pursing post-secondary education in geology, engineering, processing plant technology, or science to gain the technical skills needed to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. The scholarships are part of the oil and gas industry’s efforts to help solve growing workforce demands in North Dakota.
The North Dakota Petroleum Council awarded nine $2,000 scholarships for the 2014-2015 school year. Recipients will receive $1,000.00 for the fall semester and $1,000.00 for the spring semester.
