MSU – EARC will be presenting an interesting program with many knowledgeable speakers on Thursday, July 24th from 8:30 am until approximately 12:30 pm.
Among the speakers will be three talented people from MSU-Bozeman; Dr. Talbert, on spring wheat breeding, Dr. Burrows on diseases in wheat, barley and pea (pulse crops) and Roshan Acharya on spring stay-green characteristic study.
From USDA-ARS, Dr. Stevens will present on phosphorus study in sugar beet and crop rotation and Dr. TheCan Ceasar on soil microbiology research.
Duane Peters of Sidney Sugars Inc. will present on sugar beet varieties and NDSU-WREC Director, Dr. Jerry Bergman will present on safflower varieties and management.
Dr. Hans Schneider, MSU/MAEWS EARC Plant Pathologist will present on integrated Control of Beet Cyst Nematodes and Sherry Turner MS, MSU/MAES EARC Research Associate will present on integrated control of Ascochyta Blight of Chick Pea.
Tim Fine of MSU extension will update on the Sidney community garden and Dr. Eckhoff from EARC will present on durum breeding for Montana.
The 34th annual field day will end at approximately 12:30 pm with a sponsored luncheon.
