Crestwood Midstream Partners LP provides services to support the growth of America's energy independence through operations in every premier U.S. shale play, including the Bakken region in North Dakota.
"Connections for America's energy are at the heart of Crestwood. We are all about logistics to connect upstream partners – including leading exploration and production companies – with downstream customers – crude oil refiners, gas utilities, industrial users and wholesalers from coast to coast," said Brian Freed, Vice President for Crude Logistics of Crestwood.
"In the Bakken, our COLT Hub provides seamless connections by truck, rail and pipeline to move crude oil and gas from this region to customers on the East Coast, West Coast or points in between. Our Arrow Midstream gathering system serves producers on 150,000 acres, with 450 miles of gathering pipes for crude, gas and produced water – and direct connections into the COLT Hub," Freed added.
Crestwood's operations in the Bakken – as well as in the Marcellus, Niobrara, Permian and other key shale plays around the country – provide extensive growth opportunities in midstream services for crude oil and natural gas liquids. These opportunities are especially strong given Crestwood's long-term contracts and dedicated acreage in the most productive areas, considered the "core of the core," of these premier shale plays.
In addition to operating the COLT Hub in Epping, North Dakota, with state-of-the-art crude-by-rail loading, truck unloading racks, pipeline connections and storage (see related article in this edition) – Crestwood recently acquired Arrow Midstream, a crude oil, natural gas and produced water gathering system located in Williams County, North Dakota, approximately 60 miles southeast of the COLT Hub. Crestwood has recently expanded with the acquisition of two trucking operations in the Bakken region, giving the company one of the largest capabilities for trucking of crude, gas and produced water.
With their headquarters in Houston, Texas, and an executive office in Kansas City, Missouri, Crestwood views the Bakken region as a strategic growth opportunity for the future. The company has approximately 225 employees in the area and has committed to invest more than $180 million in expansion projects at the COLT Hub and Arrow gathering system from 2014 to 2018.
