Wild Cow Milking Back For Neal Hermanson Memorial Rodeo This Saturday

Take in some real working cowboy action at The Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo this Saturday, June 21 at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

The ranch horse competition starts at 9 am with five divisions: senior youth, junior youth, ladies' division and senior and junior horse division. There is $1000 added in each category, plus scholarships added for the youth divisions.

Entries are still being accepted. Call Janelle Anderson at 701-828-3482 prior to Saturday morning to register.

The ranch rodeo starts at 2 pm with a calcutta to auction the 10 teams. The teams will compete in five events: team trailering, team doctoring, team branding, bronc riding and wild cow milking. There will be a calcutta for the bronc riders prior to them riding. Don't miss the chance to buy a team or a bronc rider!

There's plenty for the kids as well including stick horse races, mutton busting and ribbon pulling.

Beer gardens and concessions will be available and plan to stay afterwards for the dance.

The Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo and Ranch Horse Competition are put on in honor of Neal. Profits generated from the first rodeo in 2009 provided the original seed money for the Empty Saddle Memorial Foundation, a separate entity. The Ranch Rodeo continues to give the proceeds to the ESMF each year. This year the Empty Saddle Memorial Foundation awarded ten scholarships to area youth. To date, the foundation has given out $26,500 in scholarships.
