As always, most Montana’s small streams will open for fishing on the third Saturday of May, which is May 17 this year.
A full season fishing license for residents can be purchased for $18 dollars, or if you want to try your luck for a few days, a resident two-day license is available for $5. An $8 conservation license is required for anglers age 12 and older. A full season fishing license is good until Feb. 28, 2015.
