Mandi Nay, project coordinator and Kerry Rasmussen, DRWA board member of Dry Redwater Authority along with Interstate Engineering engineers Jed Kirkland and Josh Johnson presented information to the Girard community Thursday evening. Progress is being made on the rural water project, with pipe from Sidney going to Sidney Circle subdivision and west. Depending on funding, the legislative process, and logistics, future water may come from Culbertson or Sidney and go to Fairview or Lambert, then branch out from there. Jed Kirkland, lead engineer on the project, said he is optimistic that funding will be provided due to the increased interest in this part of the state. He also said that, due to population density, the project would probably cover Richland County first and then go west. Nay invited everyone to contact her at [email protected] for more information.
