Williston Area Development Foundation has changed its name to Williston Regional Economic Development Corporation or WREDC (pronounced red-c).
For over 15 years, WREDC has been providing relocation and expansion services to new and existing primary sector businesses. This non-profits mission has expanded over the years and has been made more evident through their name change.
They work to promote a diversified economy that supports regional development and quality of life. The citizens of Williston and its surrounding townships can expect to benefit from the corporation’s combined 50 years of experience. Their successes in sustainable growth in the area have been accomplished by identifying and defining clear goals for the corporation.
WREDC’s goals:
1. Plan and Implement a “Build a Better Tomorrow” campaign.
2. Advocate state and federal support to build a growing community and region.
3. Focus on regional quality of life issues, retail and professional services growth.
4. Promote economic diversity with regional value added agriculture products and processing.
“Changing our name to Williston Regional Economic Development Corporation truly reflects who we are today and highlights our mission; the growth of Williston and the surrounding area,” said Chris Brostuen, Past President of WREDC.
“We will continue our mission to create quality of life for our residents, while advocating for state and federal support to build our growing region, focus on bringing retail to our area and promoting economic diversity with regional value added agricultural products and processing,” said Shawn Wenko, Ex-Officio Board Member of WREDC. WED is located at 22 E Broadway, Williston ND 58801. For more information call (701) 577-8110 or visit WillistonDevelopment.com
