The library will be hosting a number of activities for adults in the Richland County area. A Pinterest party will be held on Thursday, February 6th. Pinterest is an online “bulletin” board that allows you to “pin” or save your favorite websites to one place. There are a wide variety of categories that are saved to Pinterest, such as vehicles, recipes, crafts, education, books, movies, and more. Learn all about Pinterest during a half hour demonstration at 5:oo. Following the presentation will be a recycled t-shirt craft. Participants will learn two ways to make fun scarves out of old t-shirts and get to make one for themselves. Participants are asked to bring an old t-shirt to use. Mens seamless sizes XL and bigger work the best for these scarves. Other materials will be provided. Come in for the presentation, the craft, or both! No need to sign up, just come in!
The monthly Recipe Swap will be held on Thursday, February 20th at 5:30. The theme for February’s swap will be “Cookies.” To participate, make a plate of your favorite cookies and bring them in to the library during the swap. Along with your plate of cookies, bring in several copies of the recipe. You’ll get to try other’s cookies and bring home new recipes.
Adult classes, held on Wednesdays at 5:30, will be centered around Microsoft Office programs. Microsoft Word will be the focus on February 5th. This class will cover the basic uses of Microsoft word, which is an excellent tool for writing papers, creating resumes, and writing letters. February 12th and 19th will focus on Microsoft Excel, with basics being covered on the 12th with a review and the exploration of simple formulas taking place during the second part of the class. The Excel class will be best fitting for those looking for an easier way to track and budget finances. Finally, a class covering Microsoft Powerpoint will be held on February 26th. Powerpoint is a presentation slide show, which is great for giving reports in work or in school. Stop in or call to sign up for the classes.
