Michael Baron Presents "The Weight of Wealth: Is it Really Worth it?"

Join Michael Baron, native of Mandan, ND and President/Owner of Great Plains Diversified Services, Inc., On Tuesday, February 4th at 6:30pm for "How do we manage our new-found wealth?"

Baron brings a very dedicated and focused expertise to farmers and ranchers regarding their unique industry needs. He's been in the farm estate planning business since 1978. Originally employed with National Farmers Union Insurance in Mandan, North Dakota, as a property and casualty agent, he received specialized education in estate planning in Denver, Colorado 1979-1986.

Baron began his own business and incorporated Great Plains Diversified Services in May 1987 to focus solely on the financial planning aspects of the family farm and ranch agri-business community. He states, "It's not the focus to make people rich – it's to make certain they are never poor – to make certain assets earned during a lifetime are never squandered or lost – to preserve and protect a lifetime's work and accumulation throughout my clients lifetime and beyond."

Baron adds, "For many people involved in agriculture and with oil revenues, they have found the sudden increase in valuation of their assets overwhelming. Unfortunately, an overwhelmed person is a confused person and a confused person fails to do anything - including planning. A common sign in the past boom was 'Oh Lord, give me one more boom and I promise I won't screw this one up'. Unfortunately, both in agriculture and in the oil industry, people are wasting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get things right this time. Good planning not only provides for stability in generations to come, but removes the weight of wealth from the consciousness or sub consciousness of those involved. I will demonstrate both how wealth has helped - and hurt - people and how good planning can avoid these issues."
