Businesses Boom with the Oil
Through determination, hard work and their "hands-on" approach, entrepreneurs Keltz Hall and Cole Wirth began their company in Sidney, Montana in 2007 with only one truck. Since then, KC Sand and Transport has grown rapidly and currently boasts a fleet of over 30 new tractors, 50 pneumatic trailers and approximately 40 owner operators. Having outstanding relationships and strategic partnerships with many companies has allowed them to haul numerous commodities in the western region.
Their efficient- knowledgeable management team sets KC apart from others. They currently
1) Run their own full service shop by maintaining and servicing all of their own equipment
2) Offer flatbed and pneumatic trailer transportation services
3) Have a 24/7 dispatch with a custom sand software and a custom tracking software program
KC Sand and Transport is in the process of making two major expansions which will nearly double the size of their company in 2014: One expansion consists of a 4000' rail transloading facility in Casper, WY and the other is a major expansion in cement. "With these two expansions we're poised to become a very large player in the sand end of the fracking industry," stated Human Resource and Safety Director Tom Pavek. "At any given time in the Bakken, the amount of sand being used is more than most people can wrap their heads around. Our company will move over a billion pounds of sand this year alone. That's a lot of sand."
It takes an experienced team and dedicated crew to manage the day to day operations of KC's three properties.Pavek feels KC has an incredible workforce. "We're always on the hunt for good people and anybody can apply directly through our website or stop by our office in Sidney."
Owners quote on the company's website, "With KC Sand and Transport's continued success in the Montana – North Dakota Bakken Oilfield, expansion is the direction of the company."
