Parents of 2 to 12 year olds would benefit from attending “Love and Logic” Parenting Class held on Wednesday evenings -- January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5 and 12 at the Courthouse Meeting Room in Watford City. Each session will begin at 6:30 pm and conclude by 8 pm and will be free of charge. A supper meal will start at 6 pm every evening. Interested individuals are asked to pre-register by December 31 at the McKenzie County Extension Office by calling 701-444-3451 or e-mailing [email protected].
Love and Logic is designed to provide parents with opportunity to gain practical and proven tools for raising respectful, responsible and happy kids. Adults who use Love and Logic will find that they will be happier, empowered and more skilled in their interactions with children. Love allows children to live with the consequences of their choices. This program puts parents back into control and teaches children to be responsible and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences.
This program will help participants learn techniques that:
Are simple and easy to learn
Teach responsibility and character
Lower your stress level
Have immediate and positive effects
Up the odds that, when the teenage years arrive, parents can remain fun instead of frantic
Parents will be able to choose which techniques fit their family best. One or two simple skills will be experimented with at a time so that skills introduced will not become overwhelming.
