The annual SnowSlam All-nighter is set for December 29, 2013. The night is full of activity and is open to all 6th thru 12th graders at a cost of $30. Several area churches have information regarding this event. If your church does not or you do not have a church please contact Sidney Assembly of God at 406-433-2550 or stop by and pick up the permission form and make payment at 414 E Main.
A drastic change for this year is that there will be an extra $5 charged for purchasing tickets at the door on the day of the event. "We want to make sure we have enough room for our students. There are only so many seats available," says Pastor Greg Ledgerwood of Sidney Assembly of God. The concert portion of the night is open to the general public at a cost of $25. Tickets can be reserved in the same manner by contacting Sidney Assembly of God.
Through the years the event has grown to over 300 students. Each year a different guest is featured from a concert with the Tim Bach Band to a motorcycle stunt man in Brad Bennett. This year will feature the Grammy nominated band Fireflight. It is not often a band of this caliber comes to the Sidney area. As usual the allnighter will involve ice skating, bowling, basketball tournament, volleyball tournament, dodgeball and video games. Pizza will be served along with some early morning snacks. A half court shot contest will happen somewhere in the wee hours of the morning for an unspecified amount of cash.
Four years ago the success of the event demanded action. Now, there is a sister allnighter that takes place in Glasgow, MT. The Glasgow all-nighter is December 30th. The two nights share the featured guest for their nights, but each night has taken on its own life bringing a beacon of light to Eastern Montana.
