Shops at Fox Run To Open November 19

The Shops At Fox Run on North Central Ave. Sidney will be open for business Tuesday, November 19, with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Both Reynolds Market and ElectricLand will be welcoming customers to their new locations.

It has been a relatively quick process from the feasibility study started in February of 2012, to completion. According to John Reynolds, president and COB of Reynolds Corporation, Steven Miner, president of Associated Foods' wholly owned subsidiary Market Development, steered them to the research and marketing experts who were able to provide the guidance needed to get the project underway.

Miner then helped to find the perfect location for the store. Reynolds was fortunate to find land owners Joe and Leslie Russell who were fantastic to work with. Leslie is a descendant of Augusta Vaux, and the couple strongly supports the Sidney community.

Once the property was annexed into the City of Sidney, the subdivision was formed. In some instances, Associated Foods advises their member independent grocers, to purchase enough land to provide other shopping opportunities. Other retailers find it attractive to be next to a grocery store and all the foot traffic that it brings. Reynolds purchased 22 acres from the Russells and named the subdivision after Leslie's great grandfather, Augusta Vaux. Lots were then sold to Candlewood Suites and ALCO. There are still 3 lots remaining for sale, one next to ALCO and 2 remaining out parcels on Central Avenue. Tenants of the Shops At Fox Run include ElectricLand, Subway, PB&J Frozen Yogurt, the Lucky Buckle, Sidney Liquor and High Caliber Sports. Stores will be opening as their spaces are completed.

The location on North Central provides great access from the highway, or from the 3rd Ave. extension next to the Holiday Inn. It also provides convenient access for the residential properties next door.

Langlas & Associates of Billings and Bozeman are the general contractors. "They are unbelievable contractors," Reynolds said. "They started during the wettest spring we've had and got the ground work done. They are something special, an amazing company. It's been 6 months from ground breaking to completion," Ben Flanagan is the superintendent while Dave Reynolds (no relation) is the project manager.

Reynolds also had high praise for the City of Sidney for their willingness to help with the expansion process, as well as Stockman Bank and Interstate Engineering.

Reynolds Market was interested in the new location primarily because they had outgrown the current store. With the growth in the area, Reynolds had become too congested, with checkout lines longer than acceptable. "There was more business than we could handle," Reynolds said. "Plus for years and years, people have been asking when we were going to add a deli and a bakery." Those will be in the new store, along with a full service floral shop. Plans call for a Grand Opening after the first of the year.

Everyone is invited to the inaugural day at the Shops at Fox Run on Tuesday, November 19. "At the same time, we will be saying goodbye to this store, our 4th location in Sidney since we opened in 1925. This 5th one will last us a while," Reynolds said.

Reynolds Market

Reynolds Market is excited about their move from the current 20,000 sq. ft. store to their new 47,500 sq. ft. location at The Shops At Fox Run. The location provides better parking and access to what will be a truly enjoyable shopping experience.

In addition to expanding virtually every existing department with thousands more items, Reynolds is also adding a deli where customers can enjoy breakfast or lunch in a nice seating area – or out on the patio in nice weather. A full service floral department has also been added, with delivery available. Gary Lee is bringing his smiley face cookies with him as he opens the new bakery department.

An expanded service center will offer faxing, color copies, stamps, check cashing and lotto. Reynolds also hopes to handle Money Grams in the near future. A convenient ATM and Red Box videos are also on site.

After having a staff of about 34 for the past 4 years, Reynolds will now employ about 100. Openings are still available with retirees and high school kids very welcome. Department managers are Gary Lee, bakery; Coral Diede, deli; Diane Aamoth, floral; Josh Reynolds, meat and Joe Torres, produce.

Reynolds Market invites everyone to stop by their beautiful new store beginning Tuesday, November 19. They plan on a Grand Opening in January.

ElectricLand

Raleigh Peck of ElectricLand has been looking forward to the move out to the Shops at Fox Run ever since John Reynolds, president and COB of Reynolds Corporation, approached him and said he wanted them next to the new Reynolds Market store. "I thought it was a great idea," Peck said. "It will be a great shopping experience for everyone with Reynolds, ALCO, Subway, PB&J, The Lucky Buckle, Sidney Liquor all in one building." ElectricLand started small in a building on 2nd Ave. NE., outgrew that and moved into the Village Square Mall. They have now outgrown that space and will utilize all of the newly designed space. "Reynolds has been awesome to work with, creating the building design to meet our needs," Peck said.

ElectricLand will open at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 19 with a full day of specials, company reps and drawings for prizes.

The new store is bigger and brighter. "Just wait 'til you see our floor," Peck enthused. The all new Radio shack concept store design, with new layout and color changes will be pleasing and convenient for the customer. A designated Verizon area, a store within a store, will provide exclusive service for cell phone customers. ElectricLand has always stocked an excellent supply of TVs and the back wall will be filled with them. Peck is excited about the new Samsung TVs that are now in stock, along with the traditional lines. A home automation display will be right next to the TVs, offering customers an opportunity to see everything that is available in that department.

An install bay is part of the new store, and ElectricLand is looking at taking advance orders for remote starts and providing installation. The installation and service department can take care of all electronic needs, whether commercial or residential, from building PA systems, to installing Home theatre and surround sound. They repair computers and design and install camera and security systems.

The Lucky Buckle

After 5 years at the current location in downtown Sidney, The Lucky Buckle will be open in the Shops at Fox Run by Thanksgiving, probably sooner. Owner Marci Albin is excited about doubling her space and expanding all her merchandise. All her men's, women's, infants and children's clothing lines will greatly increase, along with home décor. "In the men's department, we should be the number one Cinch carrier in Eastern Montana and that's very exciting to us," she said. Albin will also have tons of fun Christmas décor as well as unique items to suit anyone's taste. "As with any expansion, it will take time," Albin explained. "Some of the new lines won't arrive until spring."

A little coffee bar will also be included in the new store. "We want to make it an environment for people to come in and enjoy the shopping experience," she said. The toy room is also moving to the new location. "I'm moving it with me. I don't want a mother to feel that she can't come in and shop because she has kids with her," Albin said.

"We will still have the uniqueness of the store and that's important to me,"

Albin is excited about Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday and will have different sales each day. "People will just have to come in and check us out," she said. The Lucky Buckle also welcomes Big Bucks. Store hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with expanded holiday hours during the Christmas season.

Sidney Liquor

Connie Wentz of Sidney Liquor Store is hoping to move into her location at the far north end next to Subway and PB&J Frozen Yogurt in early December. With far more interior space, and far more parking, Wentz will also be expanding her inventory and plans to be well supplied before the Christmas season. She will gradually add more products to help satisfy the area's increasing population and will fill requests if possible. While she already stocks a few products, Wentz would like to create an area devoted to Montana Made products, featuring beverages from Montana distilleries.
