What started out as “Let’s cut a corn maze just for the fun of it and see if anyone will come,” has turned into old-fashioned family fun for the entire family. The Vida Corn maze is Located 2 miles east of Vida. It was designed and cut by Jamison, Janessa and Sherry Haynie and seeded by a wonderful husband/dad (who really wasn’t too sure about letting his family cut into his corn crop). No GPS was used to cut the design-just a lot of counting rows and eyeing a pole held up in the distance. Believe it or not, it looked like a barn and a tractor when completed. It wouldn’t be the success it is without the help and support from a great community. The maze has been open for two Sundays now and has had over 650 visitors. It’s not just a maze. There is barnyard golf, barrel rides, a race track, a corn box, a hay pyramid, face painting and concession. There will be 4 more maze days. The schedule includes October 13th, 17th (flashlight night) and the 20th all running from 1 to dusk. October 27th will be the last maze day, and it will be a haunted maze from 4 o’clock to 7:30.The cost is $8/person. Preschool is free with a paying adult. A group of 10 or more paying customers is $6/per person. Call and inquire about booking a party (youth group, Scouts, 4-H, Birthdays, School groups).
Head out to Vida and enjoy the fun. For more information call Sherry at (406) 525-3220.
