4-H Events Kick Off Tuesday, July 30th at the Richland County Fair

Have you ever wondered what 4-H stands for?

The name represents four personal development areas of focus: head, heart, hands, and health.

Through hands on experience and by practicing the 4-H slogan, “Learning by doing,” 4-Hers learn skills that’ll remain with them throughout their lives: decision making skills, leadership skills, interpersonal relationships, community concern and responsibility.

For most 4-H families the annual county fair is the highlight of the summer. It’s the opportunity for 4-Hers to show off what they’ve worked so hard on throughout the past year. It’s a time when families come together to support one another and their community.

This year’s event promises to be an exciting time for participants and spectators alike.

Kelby was an active member of the Badlands Brushpoppers 4-H club and a standout in the state of ND in both academics and in the rodeo arena.
