Richland County Extension will be offering StrongWomenStrongBones, an evidence-based, community exercise program targeted to midlife and older women. This free strength training program helps women maintain muscle mass, strength and function as they age. The Richland County Senior Coalition and Commission on Aging support the community’s adoption of this exercise program, which increases bone density and decreases the risk of osteoporosis in women.
Classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday, until October 17 at the Senior Citizen Center (813 3rd St. N.E., Sidney). Due to the high capacity of people who have already joined this program, anyone else interested in signing up is asked to bring their own weights. For questions, call Extension Agent Ludmila Keller at 433-1206 or Director of the Commission on Aging, Jodi Berry at 433-3701.
