Two of America’s premiere singer/songwriters have joined together to bring a memorable evening of award winning original songs to the MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney, Montana. Taken collectively, these “matadors of the metaphor” have had their work featured throughout the entire tapestry of American Music.
Tim Ryan has had a successful career as both songwriter and artist, scoring a top ten hit with his first release “Dance in Circles”. Tim’s original songs have been recorded by George Straight, Randy Travis, Deana Carter and Phil Vassar, who scored a #1 hit with Tim’s song “The Last Day of My Life”.
Rob Quist is lead singer and songwriter of such seminal groups as the Mission Mountain Wood Band, The Montana Band, and Rob Quist & Great Northern. His ode to rural living “Close to the Land”, recorded by Michael Martin Murphey, was awarded Song of the Year at the Texas Music Awards, and is the theme song of the American Pubic TV show America’s Heartland. Rob’s composition “America…Pass It On” won a finalist award at the International Wildlife Film Festival for National Geographic and his songs have also been recorded by Loretta Lynn and Jack Gladstone. Rob has appeared numerous times on National TV and is also a published poet. He was recently inducted to the UM School of Fine Arts Hall of Honors.
Tim and Rob bring the easy camaraderie of well-seasoned road warriors to the stage, backing each other to produce full arrangements.
