The 33rd Annual Field Day at the Eastern Agricultural Research Center (EARC) in Sidney, MT, will be held Thursday, July 18th. Refreshments will be available at 8:30 a.m. (MDT).
The field tour will begin at 9:20 a.m. (MDT). MSU, NDSU and USDA-ARS research staff, extension specialists, cooperating farmers and industry representatives will lead discussions on the following topics:
Safflower varieties; alternative crops in the MonDak region; Spring wheat varieties & development; Spring barley varieties and development; research update on wheat insect pests; pesticide laws & common violations; sugarbeet phosphorus study; liberty link soybeans; biology & biological control of alfalfa weevil; grasshopper update; sugarbeet varieties & 2013 sugarbeet outlook; sugarbeet research at EARC; cover crop mixtures and the community garden.
Private and commercial applicator credits will be awarded to those who attend EARC’s field day.
A noon lunch, sponsored by local businesses, will be served.
The general public as well as all ag producers are cordially invited to attend and participate in the EARC Field Day activities one mile north of Sidney on Highway 200.
