Along with their traditional 4th of July events the City of Arnegard will celebrate its Centennial this year with special events planned through the 7th.
Starting out the celebration on the 4th of July will be the traditional parade, games and Beef BBQ at noon, which is sponsored by the George Fleck family this year. An evening of fireworks will finish off the day.
The festivities continue with registration Friday, July 5th at 10 am followed by time for class reunions and socializing from 1pm to 6pm. Wrapping up the first evening will be ‘Hamburgers in the Park’ served by the Arnegard Lions Club and a dance in the park with music by the ‘Falcon Brothers’ out of Trenton.
Saturday is a day full of events and festivities. In honor of the centennial, there will be a parade at 11am with lunch available from the Arnegard 4-H Club from noon until 3pm. The afternoon will be full of class reunions, socializing and kids’ games at the ballpark. Visitors will enjoy the memorabilia at Wilmington Church and the Old School B&B. Starting at 6pm there will be a banquet, which the committee requests you RSVP for. Wrapping up the evening, the ‘Falcon Brothers’ will again provide live music from 8pm to midnight.
The celebration will continue into Sunday, with ‘Breakfast in the Park’ served by the Arnegard Booster Club from 8am until 1pm. A non-denominational church service at Wilmington Church at 11am, followed by a farewell gathering will complete the festivities.
The centennial celebration will give those who are associated with Arnegard, whether past or present a chance to meet up and celebrate the city’s past.
