Plans are being finalized for the annual Town & Country Festival which will take place in Sidney Saturday, June 22. The full day of events starts off at 7 a.m. with registration for the Sidney Healthworks Fun Run. The run begins at 8:00 a.m. at Sidney Health Center.
The Sidney Jaycees will host their annual pet parade. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park with the parade starting at 9:30 a.m.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to enter a float in the parade that morning. The parade will begin in the Reynolds Market parking lot and travel north on Central Avenue to 2nd Street NW. Please call the Chamber to register your entry.
Main Street will be the site for a free noon meal, vendors and fun for all ages. Any group wishing to have a booth is encouraged to call the Sidney Chamber office. Merchants are also encouraged to participate with sidewalk sales.
Richland Opportunities will have a silent auction basket sale in the Village Square Mall from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A 3 on 3 basketball tournament organized by the Chamber’s Sports and Rec committee will also take place at the Sidney Middle School courts with Sidney Lady Eagle coach Jace Sullivan as Chairman.
The afternoon events include the Neal Hermanson Memorial Rodeo at the fairgrounds, which begins at 2:00 p.m.
Kick up your heels after the rodeo to the music of “Those Guys” in the beer garden at the fairgrounds.
In conjunction with the Town & Country Festival, the MonDak Heritage Center will host “I Do”, a cultural history of Montana weddings. The “wedding reception” starts at 2 p.m. with a presentation by Martha Kohl, historian from the Montana Historical Society, sponsored by Humanities Montana. Tickets are on sale now at $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
