The U.S. Forest Service, Dakota Prairie Grasslands, McKenzie Ranger District, is holding a Wildflower Photo Contest and a Wildflower Walk to promote appreciation for native wildflowers, use and enjoyment of the National Grasslands.
Wildflower Walk will be Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m. (central) at CCC Campground (15 miles South of Watford City, turn right just past the Little Missouri River Bridge). This will be an easy walk lasting about one hour.
Wildflower Photo Contest entries are due Friday, June 21:
Submit color, printed 5x7 photographs to the address below with your name, age category, phone number and flower name(s) on the back; photos of North Dakota native wildflowers only; age categories of 12 years and younger, 13-18 years old, and over 18; you may submit as many entries as you like. Entries will be displayed June 26 – July 10 at Watford City businesses. There will be prize winners in each age category.
