Mercy Medical Center announces the 23rd recipient of the 2012 Mercy Community Sale. This year’s Community Sale recipient is . . . the Basin United Way! The Williston Basin United Way is working to raise funds for their “Stick Together, Live United” campaign which will be used to provide financial support to twenty-seven local agencies to enhance activities and support services that directly impact community youth. “We are thankful that Mercy’s Community Sale will be the major kick-off to our “Stick Together, Live United” campaign. We look forward to partnering with Mercy Medical Center and the community, on this year’s Community Sale,” stated James Bervig, Basin United Way. “This is going to be a huge transition year for us as the Basin United Way is going to hire an Executive Director, which will make those much needed connections in the business community and the Tri-County area as a whole.” Bervig also commented on the reason for the new position. “There are numerous businesses that have transferred ownership or have moved to the Williston Basin. Our volunteer board is going to rely on the expertise of the newly hired Executive Director to take us to the next level in addressing the rising needs of children in our area.” In conclusion, Mr. Bervig stated, “I couldn’t think of a better partner than Mercy Medical Center to help the Basin United Way reach our goal for 2013.”
To date, the Williston community has realized a cumulative total in excess of $726,545 as a result of the Mercy Community Sale. These funds have been invested back into our community over the past 22 years, which have made numerous area youth projects a reality. Mark your calendar for the 2013 Mercy Community Sale to be held on Saturday, May 4th at the Raymond Family Community Center in Williston.
