The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 2.8 miles of Highway 23, south of Sidney. The project begins at the intersection with Montana 16, southwest of Sidney, at reference marker 0 and extends east for 2.8 miles ending at the intersection with Secondary 261, southeast of Sidney (reference marker 2.8).

Proposed work includes applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement marking, advanced warning flashers at the intersection with MT 16, signage as necessary, guardrail work, railroad crossing upgrade, and bridge deck treatments.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in the summer of 2016, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
