Since the fire that nearly destroyed the building on October 8th, The Depot has been working to re-open the local eating establishment. The inside of the building was a total loss due to fire, heat and smoke. Owner Mark Wilkinson stated, “All that was left was the shell.”
Many updates have been made to create a more modern and relaxing atmosphere. The dining area appears larger with the kids’ game room separated by a new large bar-style table for parties. Also added to the dining room are 3 large flat-screen TVs, tray ceilings, new games for the kids, and numerous tables for plenty of pizza lovers. As Wilkinson stated, “New look, same old Depot.”
As it is a popular place, the menu did not need to be changed but they did make one addition in honor of the local firemen. There is a new Fireman’s Pizza which will include sausage, pepperoni, bacon, onion, jalapenos, sauerkraut, pineapple and cayenne pepper.
The dining room is not the only thing that has changed, as they have doubled the size of the casino and added a side entrance. The casino has all new games and numerous flat screen TVs.
The Depot will re-open Thursday, Feb. 21, as long as everything goes as planned. They will be open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 until 9:30, Friday through Saturday from 10:30 until 10:30, and Sunday from 10:30 until 9. Come on out and check out the “new” Depot.
