Students from Williston State College’s Post-secondary Agriculture Student Organization (PAS) attended the ND State PAS Conference for the 26th straight year on January 23-25 in Minot. The event was held in conjunction with the Ag Expo.
WSC PAS students competed in many different events, including but not limited to: the Mechanics contest, Ag Sales, Livestock Specialist, Soil Specialist, Crop Specialist, Equine Specialist, etc. The award highlights: Justin Jacobs took second place in Ag Sales in the Seed and Fertilizer category. Kayla Crooker won the High Individual Award in the overall Livestock Specialist Category and Crooker was elected to be the ND State PAS President for 2013-2014! Congratulations Kayla!
WSC PAS students networked with students from other schools while playing an exciting game of Laser Tag at the Pizza Planet, followed by a mean game of spoons. The other schools in attendance were NDSCS (Wahpeton), BSC (Bismarck) & NDSU (Fargo).
“We didn’t come home with a lot of awards, but everyone learned a little and had a great time,” stated Kim Murphy, Agriculture Instruction/Program Coordinator at Williston State College.
