Bloomfield - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 8.1 miles of Highway State Secondary 254, near Bloomfield in Dawson County. The project begins near the County Road 444 intersection, at reference marker 17.4 and extends north for 8.1 miles ending near the County Road 428 intersection at (reference marker 25.5).
Proposed work includes applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal & cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement marking, signage and guardrail. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the highway and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing highway.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in the summer of 2013, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.
No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
